Beige Chinchilla

Beige chinchillas have beautiful beige fur, striking red eyes, pink ears, and playful personalities. They are much less common than gray, white, black, or brown chins, but just as wonderful as pets. Let’s learn all about them!

Vital Facts

Beige chinchillas are a species of chinchilla. Like all chinchillas, they are nocturnal animals (crepuscular, actually, but that is a topic for a different article–specifically, this one). They are primarily active at night and often sleeping during the day.

In terms of appearance, beige chinchillas are known for their distinct beige fur color and red eyes. This color comes from a dominant gene that affects their pigmentation. Beige chinchillas also have pink ears.

Beige chinchillas have a life span of 10 to 15 years, and they can weigh up to 600 grams. They should be kept in pairs for socialization and can be trained to recognize their owners’ voices.

Beige Chinchilla Price

The cost of beige chinchillas varies depending on several factors. These factors include age, gender, and breeder or pet store. A younger beige chinchilla will have a higher price point than an older one. Male beige chinchillas might be slightly cheaper than females.

You may want to consider adopting from a reputable breeder or pet store that specializes in chinchillas. They will be able to provide information on the breed, health conditions, and any necessary vaccinations (should be none).

On average, the price of an adult beige chinchilla may range from $100 to $200 dollars and the price of a baby beige chinchilla may range from $250 to $300. They’re a little more expensive than a grey chinchilla (though cheaper than something like the Royal Persian Angora chinchilla), but the uniqueness of their fur certainly makes them worth it!

How To Find A Beige Chinchilla

The best way to find a beige chinchilla is to visit a pet store or a breeding facility that specializes in chinchillas. You can also browse online for breeders who offer shipping services.

However, I would recommend researching the breeder carefully and making sure to verify their credentials. Ask for references and testimonials from previous customers, and make sure the breeder offers guarantees for the health and well-being of the chinchilla.

Caring For A Beige Chinchilla

Beige chinchillas need specific care to ensure they live a happy and healthy life. Chinchillas need to be kept in a cage with plenty of space to play and exercise.

They require a specific diet, including high-quality hay, pellets, and occasional treats. Favorite treats for chinchillas include rosehips, shredded wheat and dried lowers. However, unless you want a chunky chinchilla, I recommend keeping snacks to a minimum!

It’s crucial to provide a dust bath regularly, because  they use it to clean their fur. You can purchase the correct dust from a pet store or online. All you need to do is leave it out for your chinchilla to clean itself and then take it away after 15 minutes or so.

Chinchillas require daily attention and socialization to remain happy and comfortable. You should make sure you can set aside enough time each day to interact and play with your chinchilla.

What Makes Beige Chinchillas Unique?

Beige chinchillas are unique, because they are one of the few chinchilla species that have a dominant gene that affects pigmentation. They are a rare breed and are often in high demand because of their beautiful beige fur, which is why they are priced a little higher than grey chinchillas.

Beige chinchillas are playful and social creatures that can be trained to follow instructions and recognize their owners’ voices. They enjoy playing with toys, climbing, and exploring their surroundings, meaning you’ll have plenty of fun with your beige chinchilla.

Beige Chinchillas: Final Thoughts

The beige chinchilla is adorable, but that is true of any chinchilla color. But beige is rarer, so it is definitely more striking to see a chin in this color.

As you might expect, beige chinchillas do cost a bit more and they can be harder to find. That’s why not many people have them. If you want one, it may take you a while to find a breeder who has t one available for sale.
